Want a quick and comfortable diagnosis of urinary system diseases? Get an ultrasound

Do you have problems related to the urinary system? Have you experienced severe pain in the lumbar region or alarming changes in the way and appearance of your urine?

Purpose of the procedure

Ultrasound examination – an indispensable element of diagnostics and treatment monitoring of urinary system diseases

We encourage prevention – an ultrasound is a short and painless imaging test that can protect against the consequences of ignoring minor problems of abnormal urinary system function, which ultimately become serious ailments

What the procedure entails?

Ultrasound examination in urology involves viewing the image of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and prostate gland using a gel-moistened probe. During the examination, the patient is usually lying on their back, but the doctor may ask for a change in position at any time to better visualize the evaluated organ

Transrectal prostate ultrasound (TRUS):

  • Before the examination, the patient should perform a home or pharmacy enema to empty the large intestine

Procedure process

Kidney, bladder, and testicular ultrasound:

  • The patient lies on their back or side
  • The doctor applies gel to the skin surface at the examination site
  • The doctor moves the ultrasound probe over the skin surface, imaging the examined organs

Transrectal prostate ultrasound (TRUS):

  • The patient lies on their side with their knees bent towards the chest
  • The doctor applies gel to the tip of a special ultrasound probe
  • The doctor gently inserts the ultrasound probe into the patient's rectum, imaging the prostate through the rectal wall

Ultrasound examination is non-invasive and painless, and its results can be available immediately. After the examination, the doctor will discuss the results with the patient and, if necessary, refer them for further diagnostics or plan appropriate treatment
