LASEROWE USUNIĘCIE KŁYKCIN KOŃCZYSTYCH WARG SROMOWYCH

Improving patient comfort and reducing the risk of infecting sexual partners

Purpose of the procedure

The aim of the procedure is to remove condylomas (genital warts) caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), improve patient comfort, and reduce the risk of infecting sexual partners

Indications for the procedure

  • Presence of condylomas in the labial area
  • Failure of other treatment methods
  • Large or numerous condylomas causing discomfort

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy
  • Active infection at the treatment site
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Blood clotting disorders

Preparation for the procedure

  • Consultation with a doctor
  • Undergoing tests, including HPV tests
  • Discontinuation of antiplatelet and anticoagulant medications
  • Avoiding sexual intercourse for a few days before the procedure

Procedure process

The procedure can be performed in a doctor's office or on an outpatient basis. Local anesthesia is applied before the procedure to minimize pain. The doctor then uses a laser to precisely remove condylomas from the labia while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. The duration of the procedure depends on the number and size of condylomas

Complications after the procedure

  • Pain, redness, swelling, and bleeding at the treatment site
  • Infection
  • Scarring or skin discoloration
  • Recurrence of condylomas
  • Damage to adjacent tissues

Post-procedure recommendations

  • Hygiene of the treatment site
  • Using painkillers according to the doctor's recommendation
  • Avoiding sexual intercourse until the wound has completely healed
  • Regular follow-up visits with the doctor
  • Contact your doctor if you experience any concerning symptoms
  • Adherence to antiviral prophylaxis guidelines to reduce the risk of recurrence

Long-term care and prevention:

  • Collaboration with a doctor to monitor health status and potential recurrences of condylomas
  • Regular gynecological examinations, including Pap smears, to monitor and detect early changes related to HPV
  • Using condoms during sexual intercourse to reduce the risk of infecting partners
  • Considering HPV vaccination if you qualify for vaccination and have not yet been vaccinated
  • Avoiding smoking, which can weaken the immune system
  • Strengthening the immune system through a healthy diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep

It is worth noting that despite the removal of condylomas, the HPV virus may still be present in the body. Therefore, it is important to remain under a doctor's care and undergo regular check-ups that will allow for early detection of any changes

Removal of labial condylomas with a laser is an effective method of treating these lesions. However, remember that to reduce the risk of recurrence and minimize post-procedure complications, it is necessary to follow medical recommendations and take care of your health and hygiene
